Goldberg machine
Exercise 1- Ruth Goldberg Machine.
For this assignment, I focused mainly on creating some kind of interesting architectural environment. I also wanted to pay attention to the timing/duration of the movement. So I decided to have a very slow movement juxtaposed with a fast, constant movement which almost serve as a timer. Hence I ended up making a fast bouncy ball in the front and the slow cascading sequence in the back. I decided to just keep the slow sequence pretty minimal because I do not want to crowd up the space too much because there are already quite a lot of textures going on in the space. The main technical difficulty I encountered: tweaking and adjusting the mass, weight and bounciness for each component so that the seesaw will only start moving when collided.
